I got up to lvl 27, so far. I'd suggest NOT farming the stupid cave - you don't get marks that way, as far as I know, and even if you do happen to stumble across one legendary engram after two hours, in all likelihood, it'll be a rare. And even if it IS a legendary, there's a good chance it's for another class.

Basically, you're getting tickets, and the color shows the highest-possible quality of item you could receive. It is not promising purple, only saying that purple is a potential from the item.

I picked this one up myself. It's pretty sick. Fast firing from the hip, and then when zoomed it fires more slow controlled shots, which makes it easier for critical hits.
