They don’t make ‘em like they used ta! My old car was made of steel and would destroy a new car in a crash!

Depends on the city. Growing up in PA, it was definitely true. The lights through town were timed almost perfectly to a car going 25mph. But in NC, the civil engineers just couldn’t give a crap. Each intersection just does whatever the hell it wants, so jams are common. Every few years, someone writes an op-ed about

I’ve heard that “thrown clear” myth so many times. It baffles me; unless you’re in a convertible, you’ll be “thrown clear through the windshield” resulting in a broken neck and massive lacerations.

The transmission reminds me of an angler fish, or one of those other semi-transparent deep-sea nightmares.

Hey now, that bumped it from a 2.2l 120hp iron block pushrod 4, to a 2.4l 150hp iron block “twin-cam” 4!

Hyundai Sonata. Its not a bad car, but they’re EVERYWHERE. And the styling changes drastically every few years, so there’s no sense of continuity or heritage between refreshes or generations. It’s just a moderately stylish practical sedan.

Subaru Impreza and Legacy.

I emailed CarMax, told them I was interested in a car, they brought it to me pulled behind a Mercedes Sprinter with a full office inside. I test drove it, agreed to buy, signed the paperwork inside the van (they never even set foot inside my house) and they drove away while I had a gently used 1 year old car in my

Is it really any different than a Jeep Wrangler with a soft top and removable doors? Feels like you’d still want metal around the engine to protect it, but if the rest of the body is fabric, it would be cool to just fold it up and drive around in an open buggy.

Now playing

Some of the highlights. Sure it’s not as fast as other series, but watching them fight through those turns and the track going inside the building made for a fun interesting watch.

What’s it like driving a car with the side mirrors out on the fenders like that? I always thought it was such a cool look, but I can’t imagine having to look that far ahead to see behind me.

Seems like everyone forgot about Bulletstorm.

From what I remember of the 90s, there’s not nearly enough flannel shirts over band t-shirts paired with beige bucket hats, denim shirts, or vintage 60s/70s clothes from a thrift store. Seems like most of the younger peoples’ view of 90s fashion was what was shown to them on children’s TV at the time. As a

Celcius is great for scientific precision along with the rest of the metric system, but farenheit works better as a measurement of human experienced weather temperatures. 0 is very cold, 100 is very hot, and temperatures can easily be grouped into neat sets of 10 along a bigger range.

People fleeing Central American countries that the CIA fucked up in a futile effort to fight communism are “invaders” to you? Jebus Cripes you’re disgusting.

I can’t imagine the guv’ saying either of those.... lol

First, that front-end doesn’t flow with the rest of the car. It’s not a bad design, but it doesn’t seem to fit right. Like the profile and grill were designed separately by 2 different teams who were both told, “imagine an updated Audi ur-Quattro” but didn’t share ideas.

You know what, you’re right. I think I got the 2 cars mixed up. The Munsters expanded universe lore is so complex!

Back to the Future actually got that one right, it was 1955 but Biff was driving a 46 Ford.

IIRC Lilly paid the garage to chop 2 older cars together into the Dragula as a birthday present to Herman.
