While I’ve thought about it before, it really struck me with this announcement, how absolutely useless and unsellable the Digital only versions of these consoles actually are. Once the generation gets near it’s end, the all digital consoles will very quickly become past tech paperweights.

Fuck that, left turn lights are a must on many busy streets

I mostly agree with your take

Maybe people don’t want the thing they say they didn’t want

There’s a vast difference between Microsoft, a company that’s been publishing and developing games for 30+ years and a wealthy investment group treating game development like it’s a crypto boom. There’s plenty of money to be made, but in gaming, it’s a very long road to wealth. Unless you can hit on a candy crush or

Clearly this is because THPS 1&2 was just announced for Steam

Steam really doesn’t like it when you use Offline mode. But technically, it should work

That wouldn’t make any sense since Microsoft releases nearly everything on Steam

One of my biggest hopes for the MS/ Acti deal is that Microsoft will push for the next chapter in the THPS franchise or re-release after Activision decided we didn’t need anymore, despite massive success.

Nintendo loves consumers so much they take them out on dates to court all the time

Depends on if Sega allowed that kind of support on the PS5. Stuff like that is usually not solely up to the console manufacturer. It’s why not every Xbox One or Xbox 360 title is playable on the XsX.

The problem isn’t just buying a company, the company has to either be willing or you have to have a hostile takeover via shareholder majority. Even then, most Japanese companies wouldn’t likely sell to an American company like that.
Microsoft also tried to buy Sega once before and failed

Considering Microsoft tried this in the past and it failed, it’s not likely anything that’s going to work today. This isn’t a case of “microsoft wanting to buy” and more just one guy talking about dreams

Yeah, dude was relatively young and likely as stubborn as they come. I’ve got a friend who claims to be a sovereign citizen and believes there’s nothing that no one can do about it. I know, but am not friends with a couple other people who make that claim as well and you cannot have a good conversation with them

There’s literally no good reason to hide the door opening mechanism, regardless of whatever brand of car did it first or still does it. That should be regulated away

Has nobody noticed that’s nearly every single genre game? When was the last time you played an FPS with a fresh take on the genre?
I know what you’re about to say, but when did the game succeed and not become a commercial flop

The question to that would depend on what came along for the ride. I’m sure a good chunk of what made the last Saints Row a mediocre experience was that it was released too early. Otherwise it wasn’t a bad game, just incredibly mediocre. But that’s neither here nor there if the company comes with the IP it developed

Do they ever actually attempt to sell these companies off? It seems like even if they sold it for less than ideal pricing, it would be worth it, considering the fact that you don’t get a dime if for closing it outright

I’m sure they could, but a big portion of their GDP goes directly to the federal government and then to the southern states that run deficits every year

It’s actually more complicated than just OPEC. For instance, the US itself is producing more oil than it ever has and more than OPEC, currently.
There’s a whole host of factors that go into the price, one of them is the current war Russia is waging on Ukraine. Another is getting enough workers for the refineries and
