‘Edgy.’
‘Edgy.’
I thought about that too, but with Zandalari trolls that distinction cannot be ignored. Nor should it be. Yeah their implementation has been clunky in the past, but if you’re making the effort to include loa and all that vodou jazz, it makes sense that the trolls should look more the part too.
More than that, the Horde race that takes their influence from African and West Indian cultures—the Trolls—also do not have access to the hairstyles that would cement that cultural link. There’s an entire sub-race of Zandalari trolls steeped in Vodou and West Indian traditions (Bwonsamdi is literally the Haitian…
Beyond even from a diversity standpoint, lots of what I’ve heard is people super jazzed about all the new customization options.
What did Jason do?
I don’t post too often, but definitely had to come down here and say thank you for posting about this.
Good on you for posting this knowing well there will be lots of people screeching about “I come to Kotaku for games journalism, not social justice”. Everyone needs to pay attention, all ages, all races, all religions. Only when people are paying attention will they actually comprehend what is going on around them.
Pouring one out specifically for “UNLESS IT’S A FARM!” What a great character.
The people in Destiny who enjoy PvP, casual PvE, Raids and these mindbender puzzles are pretty much four distinct groups in the community. I don’t see why that’s a bad thing.
I’m enjoying this puzzle because even though I’m not a raider or a top tier player, I can still contribute by running through the Corridors and sending my puzzle code to a community spreadsheet.
Just started Control a few days ago, and I was really struck by how Jesse doesn’t have to run through the usual “Chosen One” rigmarole. There’s no burden-of-responsibility “I can’t do this!” before learning to accept the responsibility of the position, and her subordinates aren’t sneering and saying “Rawr this is…
I never worry too much about what someone might think of my loadout. I almost always take an auto and a scout into EVERYTHING, including Crucible. Scouts have always been a favorite of mine, and I’ll be damned if I’m not going to use them because ‘they’re not meta’. I’ve wrecked shit with my old Tone Patrol. TP,…
Maybe I don’t dodge all that often, or maybe it’s high enough to use whenever I want/need to...what’s it matter?
I think most players would agree that one of the nice things about the vast majority of Destiny’s PvE is that “good” vs. “bad” rolls don’t really matter. Hell, as long as you’re not super concerned with ranked PvP, rolls don’t entirely matter there either.
This is the best, least stressful way to enjoy the game. If you believe what the meta says Hard Light is irredeemable trash. But I love it, use it, and do well with it.
Fuck the meta, fuck having a ton of different builds for specific activities, fuck keeping every little thing to try and build this ultimate collection...just use whatever you like.
I’m a Hunter main, and guess what my preferred loadout is? Ace of Spades/The Spiteful Fang in kinetic, The Ringing Nail/Vouchsafe in…
This article paints such a vivid experience of watching the last decade in transformation and the duality of representation and exclusion that has come with a renewed interest in video game gender politics. It’s not one I experienced firsthand, but one that I was painfully forced to watch my gaming friends suffer…
I usually don’t have time to read the Kotaku features, so I fully expected to browse the first couple of paragraphs and move on.
I think the thing people aren’t taking into consideration here when it comes to asking “how could Anthem possibly turn around now?” is that there’s some genuinely very cool ideas in the game that are currently buried in a bunch of missteps. The actual flying is phenomenal, the game itself is beautiful (which makes the…
I am always in favor of another comeback story and games have shown they are entirely capable of being reborn. There are things that are worth saving in here, and if Anthem can be salvaged I hope they manage it!
