I’m in the same boat. I’m an adult man and have never dropped my Switch but the few times I try to play undocked I almost always get a hard drift due left. Thank god I almost always play docked with the Pro controller or the 8-bit do SNES classic one (which is fun as hell :).

I give it six months tops and very high likelihood of ending in murder/suicide combo.
