Every time Barry doesn't disarm everyone as his step one protocol is a total failure on the part of the writers. Writing a scene where The Flash gets punched by someone without the benefit of super speed is an embarassment.

The Flash is superfast except when someone is punching him, but he's fast again is someone is about to apply the killshot. Then he's not again, when a metal rack falls on him. Then the homicidal villain walks away instead of finishing him off.
