Agreed. Ignore the hopeless style and poor handling and these things are among the best deals on CL if you need a super cheap, reliable, comfortable car. Especially one that you can use on tortured midwest roads without a care in the world.

hence the creation of the derogatory “tacticool”
Family and friends mock us and poke fun but we can definitely see a negative change in behavior when they get less sleep.
C’mon, CJ, Cali can be nothing other than the Prius. The precedent is set in stone.
I fantasized of a VR6 Porsche 944/968.
Use spring compressors, not vices.
I’ve had a car fall on me while I was under it. I was replacing a control arm on my E30 318i when the car slipped off the jack stand I had it on. I also had the wheel I took off, under the car as a failsafe. And it probably saved my life. I was pinned under the car with my ribcage being partially crushed. Managed to…
If you have a popular car, there’s a good chance someone did it on youtube. Watch it there first.
YES! Excellent point. Push with your hand open... and if there is something that wants a skin donation, like a radiator, intercooler, or casting flash, throw a rag over it first.
Also, if you have to push, don’t use a close fist when breaking a nut free, push with your palm so as to not punch my rusty frame again.
I’ve come to accept that wrenching will require at least a little blood sacrifice, my XJ got both Dad and myself Saturday for example, it just seems to come with the territory when wrenching on something.
Yup!
To put it a little different way, when the light turns green, keep your right foot is on the brake, let the clutch out until you get to the bite point (when you can start to feel the car pull forward a little), then move right foot to throttle and take off like normal. If done correctly, you will only be slipping the…
”..and it’s something you only use in very vigorous driving...”
Yeah because pitting another guy into a wall was totally justified.
What i ment was im assuming he has driven this car atleast one other time... you kinda know in your car just how hard to push the peddle to get your tires to spin. Was this really the place to try out your “awsome burnout skillz yo!”... not really.
I was originally thinking he probably just lifted when he realized it wasn’t coming back like he thought it would. That will make a big tire car grab pretty hard. But, the shifting along with the tires getting pretty toasty by that point is just as likely. Guess we will know once we analyze the data from the logger.
Traction control is a bane on modern society. I’ve argued against it many times, and believe it is the main reason we see so many of these types of crashes. Someone finally works up the guts to turn it off and try to show off, then has no idea how the car actually behaves and stuffs it.
