Cool your jets.
Yeah, thanks for pointing that out, I missed it.
Eh, whatever flavor of personal torture that someone chooses doesn’t affect me.
I think you missed the point of the article. It basically started off by saying “here is what I (f’in) hated about the User Interface of this car.”
A mini Marquis de Sade at that. Toyota cars all seem to be made for small people. (I’m that far above average height either).
The only honest criticism I can give it is that the steering wheel is too far away for a person with long legs, a similar problem my wife’s old Corolla had.
I’m not sure what the changes were between 2nd and 3rd gen, but small Toyotas were pretty horrible in the late 00s. I definitely put my wife’s old ‘09 Corolla in the worst spot for my experiences.
I didn’t say it was a great thing to drive, but it’s not outright horrible either.
It’s for people that like all the stuff you hate - the beeping, the judging, the different shifter. It’s very much an appliance car.
Can you really find a ‘90s subcompact worth owning for $2k?
How has the state of the world affected your view/love of cars?
Right, they have tons of historical names that would be great for a performance based passenger vehicle that are not tied to current production vehicles.
They also used the Bullitt name quite recently as well before bringing it back, so I can’t believe they have a specific rotation schedule for that naming.
Even the new edge Mach 1 wasn’t a track specific machine, it was tuned and geared more for the dragstrip. (Though it did have several upgrades to the suspension and brakes that did help through the corners.)
History doesn’t matter. It’s marketing.
