The typical driver doesn’t take their SUV off-road, and as a result more have moved to having large wheels, FWD, less ground clearance and unibody construction. And they sell better because of it
I think cross-overs already answered that question for you, minus the body on frame part. And that is because no one actually wants that, no matter how much they think they do, unless they’re off-roading or hauling/towing heavy loads on the regular. I don’t understand the hate on trucks. Especially around here where people praise old luxo-barges like the Crown Vic. An F150 is a million times better than a Crown Vic by every single measure. The biggest issue I have with them is they are too big to fit in my garage.
It is silly that you’re expecting a Mustang to hold you and your wife at over 6' and two teenagers in the back that might be 6' tall. You bought the wrong car if these are your requirements.
I’m not really advocating for taking all of their payment and giving it to the hourly workers, only pointing out that doing so would seem far less damning if they did so, especially in the light of their total compensating being so high above their reported profits.
