I feel the same way. I know nothing about Taylor Swift beyond Ryan Adams' "1989" album, which is great, and what's unavoidable from a general pop culture awareness.
But she is exactly the right person, or at the right level of fame anyway, to bring this kind of shit to the public's attention. (Plus, the $1 amount

Not taking that bet but here's a corollary: Trump will WANT to see Ivanka holding a Trumpy Bear, and he'll ask for a really good soft-focus-on-the-edges photo of that. And also Ivanka should be wearing something white and sheer from her fabulous collection of child slavery apparel.
And the next executive order will

Fits right in with the current batch of cabinet-level fuckheads: "I'm like an alcoholic, except for war."

Better than my idea for a sitcom about a kid named Billy Occam riding around on a scooter. That's right, Occam's Razor.

But…! Peter Fonda's character Wyatt in Easy Rider, referred to as Captain America by Billy (Dennis Hopper), DID wear an actual flag on the back of his jacket, I think. That coupled with the flag-patterned hat and gas tank… Well. Of COURSE he should be shot.

The only way to figure out if this is real is to buy one. I can't, though, as I don't have a spare 50 bucks. Even though I'm white! Sad.

Those Harold and the Purple Crayon books are incredible, and if you look at them a certain way, Harold might the only living being on earth. Or a sociopath.

Whoa, I've never even read The Trumpet of the Swan…! I have a copy somewhere - just never got around to it even though I read Charlotte's Web and Stuart Little, and read them to my kids as well.
After the tragedy of Charlotte and the flat-out weirdness of Stuart, I might just not have been in the mood for more EB

For years they had a phone in the lobby of the Plaza you could pick up and hear Eloise's voice, I think done by Kay Thompson herself.

Horton Hears the Who ends with the death of Keith Moon, I'm pretty sure.

There's a novel not many people have read, called Pictures from a Trip, by Tim Rumsey. It's about a couple of brothers and their friend who go on a road trip to search for fossils. The book is full of cool paleontology facts, history, fart jokes, road-trip lore, and … "Goodnight Moon". I hadn't liked the book,

Wait, you're not bulletproof, super strong, American, AND you don't have high tech machinery with cool weapons that also makes you fly?

I'm rewatching Cage now. Had forgotten what a powerful presence Mahershala Ali is as Cottonmouth. I like Alfre Woodard just fine but her stepping up to be the next crime boss doesn't have the menace it should.

"It's your scarf…"

I zipped through Iron Fist in about two days I think - not that it was great, it wasn't. A lot of it fell flat, and Danny's petulance was unpleasant (though it looks like they're using that well in the Defenders).
I wanted to get through it, completist that I am, and there are some decent episodes/scenes. It's the

I've always thought the Punisher was a pretty simple character, and have always been mystified that three movies couldn't get him right (okay, I haven't seen all the movies and have heard that War Zone was good, or at least well cast). So I really liked what Bernthal did with the character - there was enough nuance

I just caught up on SHIELD, and yes, it's gotten great. (And the weaker arcs, retrospectively, don't look as bad to me now, but I'm very forgiving when it comes to shows I like.) If the next season will be the last, I'm pretty confident that they'll do it up right. But it would be sad to see it go.

Moon Knight would have been great! I never really dug Iron Fist at all, and thought the partnership with Luke was a little forced. Although many issues of the comic dealt with them well as partners/opposites I like Luke Cage solo better.
From this review, though, it looks like they took to heart the fact that Danny

I don't want to be annoying but madame Gao was first seen in Daredevil in its first season, not in Iron Fist…

I know it's been said before, but the recent election was proof that American hates and fears women more than it hates and fears blacks.
