My first reaction was to ridicule DC for these silly villains but then I considered some of Spidey's bad guys. A disproportionate number of them were animal-themed-Gibbon, Kangaroo, Vulture, Lizard, Scorpion, Jackal, Puma…
And then there was "just a guy named Joe"…
The only time the Vulture has seemed even close to…
There was a French version of Toast. Can't think what it was called.
LBJ is my favorite president, hands down. I've never thought Kennedy would have done much for civil rights - Johnson, by contrast, did a lot, at the expense of a lot of political good will - his own and the legislators he badgered into voting.
Seriously -nearly every social program that the republicans have been…
Someone pointed out somewhere —- the paper doesn't appear to have been folded. How was it mailed?
I don't know if he's hot, but he's a really good actor. He's done a series based on Ken Bruen's Jack Taylor books. Taylor is an Irish ex-Garda (cop of some kind) who has some drinking problems and, in the novels, good taste in books and music.
I've only seen one ep of the show, but Iain Glen is kinda perfect in it. …
That's true of the section of the book the pilot covers, too - many characters are just referred to and it takes a bit to get to the point where their importance is clear, but it happens.
I'd love it if Moondragon showed up in Infinity War - but would love it more if Mantis runs into Hawkeye and asks if he has a brother.
Thank you! I dimly remembered, obviously. I loved the Deadly Discs game - good graphics and cool noises.
And yeah, that one with 4 minigames is the one with the motorcycles.
Cast a Deadly Spell was wonderful - don't know if it's ever been put on dvd, I know I never found it and made do with a very used ex-library copy of the vhs tape.
They made a sequel, Witch Hunt, starring Dennis Hopper in place of Fred Ward, and it was, as I recall, nearly completely bad.
So did you hear about the Polish starlet? She fucked the writer.
Admiral Boom is in the books too - and as I (dimly) recall he gets a chapter of his own (most of the people Poppins and the kids encounter do, eventually).
*I* wonder why he wasn't in any of the Harry Potter movies!!!
A strange thing - it's weird that they wouldn't ask him, and I bet he would have said yes, and done great with any part they wanted to give him.
I hope - and I think I've heard it's true - that they're leaning toward the Poppins of the books. I love Julie Andrews, but her portrayal was sweetness and light. Mary Poppins? kind of a bitch, actually.
Was that the series that had John Cleese in Taming of the Shrew?
"I'm a reasonable man…"
I know it's been said but I can say it with authority: Time Bandits holds up like a motherfucker. I just watched it about a week ago. Still funny, suspenseful, wistful, scary, sad….
And there is no way in the world it would be made today. I mean, Gilliam would say- "here's what the costumes and sets will look…
I only saw Tron once, in the theater. It gave me a headache - really, there was sort of that low-level "computer" hum going through a lot of the scenes. Unless I imagined that?
Anyway there was a Tron video game in the arcades that I really liked. You could get into one of those disc-throwing battles, or you move…
He and the Rock could run and their entire platform could just be the songs from Moana.
It would make a LOT more sense that the platform of, you know, the guy we have now.
Okay, I didn't know that book existed and it looks like I need to read it. Thanks!
