Serena always makes for good discussion in my opinion. Undoubtedly the best female tennis player of all time. A once in a generation type talent. This is, to me, an undeniable truth.

Look mate, I’m not trying to start trouble, but if there’s a list of coaches on the proverbial hot seat I expect to see Marvin’s name present. It doesn’t have to be a midseason firing and I’m not calling for an asterisk. Nothing you’ve said here is wrong.

Are we excluding Marvin Lewis from the hot seat coaches because he’s doing such a great job or because the Bengals organization simply won’t grow a pair?

This has always fascinated me. We grew up in a neighborhood with a a few fairly devout Christian families. I hung out regularly with some Baptists, while my younger brother befriended a family of born again Christians down the street.

Cincinnati guy here. I have participated American Outlaws pregame festivities in New York (US vs ARG,) cheered from the Nordecke in Columbus, and got rowdy in the Bailey of Nippert.

Azarenka once told one of my more vocal friends to shut up during her collapse against Ivanovic in Cincinnati. Was he her coach? Absolutely not, but she heard him calling out. (As I recall it was good advice, but I’d also had a lot of beefeater that night.)

I’ve seen dead fish that look more life like than Delpo did in the early stages of that match. Really, how many players at this stage of their career and in THAT stage of ANY tournament, much less a grand slam, can only muster 1 winner throughout 12 games played?

Maria’s entire defense for this positive test is that she didn’t know the substance was banned.

Agree for the most part. I’m a little bit snobbish in who I choose to watch in terms of a full match. Stylistically perfer an all court game vs an Isner serve-bot.

I live within 10 minutes of the Western and Southern Open. I’ve been going every year including a one year stint as a ball boy in 1999. Although I have never been to a slam, Cincinnati offers an incredible fan experience. Top players, both men and women, active on the court during the same week of play.

Enjoy your work! You’ve been a pleasure to read. Make sure you get to make the trip to the Western and Southern Open some time!
