As a Ford tech who has seen Fords modern awd platform in use in the na Taurus Police Interceptors, my money would be on the ptu which sends power to the rear wheels and right front wheel. They seem to break pretty often under the sever abuse of the police, and even if it is upgraded I don’t see it handling much more…
