I think Gawker needs to be even-handed as possible when cases with this set of criteria present themselves. When a case is quickly dropped, and there's a side order from the suitemate about the alleged victim's bragging about her ability to spin a tale.

They should pull the tournament from Canada and give it to the country it beat out in the race to host it. That ought to shut everyone up.
I don't want to be thought of as defending FIFA here, but I need to point out that there was a grand total of ZERO countries not named Canada bidding to host this tournament.
Most of the players in the Women's World Cup play on turf during the year, so I'm not seeing what the problem is here.
