There’s at least 4 batteries in that picture, and spare change. Spare Change + High Discharge Battery = Venting/Explosion

Not that facts have anything to do with a sensational story, but this guy had a bunch of loose batteries and spare change in his pocket, which is not intelligent in any case. This (like every single one of these stories) is 100% user error. This guy is an idiot.
