The Commodore is at the end of it’s life. Holden is closing up shop after 2016/17. That is why many in our Holden community are waiting to snap up the final SS’s once Holden officially announces a closing date and Chevy commits to importing them through.

It’s still Dexcool. It’s a 60/40 mix. 60% water, 40% Dex.

I don’t seem to have any issue. Of those seven, I would gladly take it in any three colors;

Early 1st Gen CTS-V’s had a diff made of glass. It was addressed mid-way through that first gen cycle.

Cadillac has been using STB’s in their V-Series for years. My ‘06 STS-V has one.

Yes. Why?

So decade old cars (as noted), that looked fast but were slow then. So what has changed vs. now? Actually, I did like that Altima. The wheels and the exhaust setup gave it a proper look. Almost like a proper “stance”.

A-Freaking-man. That race altima commercial sent me berserk because the street car is NOTHING like that. A complete 180* difference. Yet people fall for that marketing, thing that they purchased and are driving a performance sedan, only to realize it’s only a slightly “sportier” appliance than the honda/toyota

Problem is though, Nissan markets them as a “performance sedan” whether blatantly or not, in their commercials. A “sportier” alternative to the masses of Accords and Camry’s.

Agreed. It’s those little details.

Everyone is doing it now. GM has been doing it for years. Back to the 90’s even.

1) It looks cleaner from an aesthetic perspective

Everyone is doing it. GM has been doing it for years (back in the 90’s). It has just evolved since then and now every manufacturer does it.

And for his/her next trick... Rolling it back up and putting it BACK in the door.

Agreed. I loved these things as an impressionable teenager, but they weren’t that common. I did have my fair share of other S-Series trucks (pickups and Blazers and even a Bravada), but I too think the $7k price is a wee bit steep. Especially if it’s been painted. Why? What is it hiding? Michigan winters, and no frame

An LS1 in an F-Body is a piece of cake. When you do one in an LT1 F-Body, you’ll quickly appreciate the LS1...

Yup, posted that above. I got them all the time in service and punished myself by owning a couple. Whenever we’d (well, “I’d” ) perform any A/C service that required dropping the cradle to get to the compressor we’d ALWAYS recommend to the customer that while in Rome, replace the alternator while we had it all apart

Many vehicles are like this now, not just GM (two in my garage are like this). Especially if the vehicle has HID’s. The perceived viewpoint is, that in this disposable work we live in, most people will “turn” the vehicle before a headlight bulb goes out anyway, so...

You can accomplish the same thing with a can of white lithium grease and the little red tube as a cheap alternative.

Oh, and I should add that many (Myself included), on GenIII or later motors with it, also plugged it or bypassed it, because hot air isn’t great from a performance perspective when it IS at full operating temp.
