Seriously. If she believes in even one of the things on her list, she’s a feminist. Feminism is a big fucking tent and I can’t stand how the term has been turned into a dirty word suggesting fringe extremism. Treating it like its a big deal to say you’re a feminist only lets the anti-feminist forces win.
Somewhat in his defense, this was the motive behind Lindsay Graham pushing the 20 week abortion ban to a vote in the Senate. He was showing that if a slightly less extreme attack on reproductive rights can’t pass in the Senate or get anywhere near the 67 votes necessary to overcome an Obama veto, there’s no way…
Yeah, like I get that you are on the side of the angels in terms of these assholes trying to destroy PP, BUT the 5th Amendment is still super important and the criminal justice system falls apart if invoking it is interpreted as meaning admission of guilt.
It’s too bad that the religious right doesn’t really believe in the rule of law any more. Their understanding of the 1st Amendment is almost as misguided and woeful as their understanding of the Bible.
Exactly. The problem is that many in the pro-life movement aren’t so much anti-abortion as they are anti-women having control over their own reproductive health.
There’s no problem with believing that life begins at conception, so long as you don’t try to impose that belief on those that don’t by preventing them from getting abortions.
I had a dream last night that I was hanging out with the Knowles sisters at work, and even though my office building had become a postmodern Michael Graves style nightmare and my office kept changing locations it was totally worth it because they were rad.
I posted about this in the grey’s but yeah I worked for her manager and she’s basically normal and down to earth, one of the best clients to deal with. The fact that she is doing this totally makes sense to me.
I used to work for Jessica Biel’s manager (one time I had to sneak her out of our office so the paparazzi didn’t see secret agent style) and while she’s not my favorite actress, or human, she was perfectly lovely and down to earth, and had an open mind for things and a willingness to learn more. This seems totally in…
BOBBY THERE IS STILL AN ARBY’S IN BROOKLYN I CAN SEE IT FROM MY HOUSE LIKE SARAH PALIN CAN SEE RUSSIA EXCEPT FOR REAL
“I am a business person doing business transactions” IS DONALD TRUMP ACTUALLY VINCENT ADULTMAN?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Go to Wabash College then...
In Hudson’s defense, its highly likely that the women allowed into Spee will be the same as the men, privileged assholes who have the right background...
Yeah but the finals clubs are like only junior and senior year. If the secret societies at Yale have any bearing on this discussion, believe me its not about hooking up...
The point is that the all-male clubs bestow a connection/level of prestige that the all-female clubs can never accomplish. Believe me no male at Harvard is distressed because he wasn’t punched for an all-female finals club...
If you can’t understand why being a member of the all-male clubs at Harvard that have existed since the 1850s is different than being a member of an all-female club that started in the 1990s at the earliest, and why access to the former means an entirely different thing than access to the latter, then I can’t help…
The all-female clubs probably are a relic of Radcliffe. But if you factor in the fact that there are still 7 all male clubs and only 5 all-female clubs and the all-female clubs are no doubt not anywhere near the same status as the “real” all-male finals clubs, yeah, I’m not super worried about the all-female clubs…
Ugh excuse me while I go vomit
Eh, I’m sure most people at Harvard would want to be in a Finals Club. The sort of person that goes to Harvard seeks out the most prestige they can find. I’m sure there are plenty that find the whole thing elitist, racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. But, for the rest, they wouldn’t turn down the opportunity...
