Think we’re going to have to agree to disagree there. You’ve clearly never driven a “good” Volvo; tuned they can make a lot of power and are surprisingly fun. Sleepers must just not be your thing, and that’s fine. Also, the S40 with AWD and the 6 speed is far from common.

... As someone who dailies an S40 T5 AWD... It's definitely a larger turning radius than it /should/ be, but your buddy is prone to some serious exaggeration.

I daily an 06 T5 AWD S40... They’re known to have fairly bad rev hang, but that’s about it. Nothing wrong with the clutch (and I’ve driven many many manuals over the years - Audi, Fiat, Chevy, etc) - what’re you talking about?

Untrue. You can't get the C30 in AWD, just FWD. Yes, there are a few mad men who have swapped the S40 AWD running gear in to the C30, but you're probably going to pay 15k+ for those if you can even find one willing to sell. ;)

A year and a half ago I bought my 06 S40 T5 AWD with 110k miles, all services done on time (not an R-line, but I think that basically means all I’m missing is some trim work, blind spot warning system, and remote start?) for $2600.
