GRRM is very interested in the series.
Just not the books.

I know these aren't always timely, but I saw this ages ago. The VH1 link shows that it was posted in February, forever ago in pop culture terms. Do better, Internet!

It's not like Ekberg did much actual acting. Seems like almost any statuesque & buxom blonde with some screen presence could pull it off. Even a porn star could probably handle it, since it's more about how she moves than anything she says.

I haven't seen it in a while, either, but my memory is that there's very little premise. It's very, well, Fellini-esque, which is really not reproduceable. I don't see how this could possibly work, or why anybody would want to see the attempt, as long as the original exists.

Eh, people can make whatever they want. The issue here, for me, is why the A.V. Club would feature this particular one. It's not clever, or funny, & unless "inevitable" has changed its meaning since I last checked, it's not that, either. I know it's a running joke down here in comments land that these "Great Job,

Okay, that one actually made me LOL. Well done, sir!

Seeing Obama so free & open is truly glorious. I'll try not to keep wishing he'd have been like this for his whole term*, but I'll take at least a year of so of a complete lack of giveashit.

We'll have to agree to disagree on Gielgud's Cassius. I like what he does with the character, though it's a but stage-y (as a lot of movies of that era still were). That said, I can see where you're coming from. We definitely agree on Calhern, though.

The fact that I was so easily able to comment first here, 15 minutes after this article posted, suggests that I'm not alone in my assessment.

Eh, I never really found her funny. To me, she comes off as trying too hard to be crude/shocking for its own sake. I admittedly haven't seen much of her stuff, & maybe if I dug around more I'd find something to impress me, but what I have seen is pretty hacky.

Not sure if this qualifies exactly, but I would have LOVED it if they had used the cast, crew, sets, costumes, etc., from HBO's Rome to do a better film version of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. The '50s version is OK—James Mason as Brutus & John Gielgud as Cassius are very good, & Marlon Brando as Antony is

It's called "santorum".

If it makes you feel any better, I did give her a little crap about it back in the day. But as creative spellings go, I've seen a lot worse.

Leslye Headland was a student at the school where I first worked, & she was a pretty cool kid even then—smart, funny, & talented. She could sing, & her Audrey in the school's production of Little Shop of Horrors was very impressive, & not just for a high school freshman. Anyways, I'm super happy for her

To be fair, at least in Kangaroo Jack it's presented as a bad dream. OK, so that's not much of an exoneration.

I've only seen one, but yeesh. I know everybody's got bills to pay, but there are limits.

By "bought" I assume you mean "wrote".

Only if it's m-f-ing tea!

Wow. That is just….
Wow.
