That was basically my point. You'd be hard pressed to find a monarch's dynasty anywhere that doesn't ultimately trace back to ascension by force in some form or other. Still, if one wanted to pick nits—and who doesn't!—Dany's claim is stronger than Stannis', at least.

That was already mentioned, several times. The poster I'm replying to suggested he/she seemed to remember another one.

It's not obvious, but it was edited to leave doubt. I could see it going either way.

Nope, all the full nudity was a body double—they just CGIed Headey's face on there. For one thing, Heady's on record saying that she didn't film a nude scene, plus she was really pregnant when this season shot.

Yup. Still, now would have been a good time to keep Ghost around, you know, just in case. Oh, well.

Mostly, yes, & in some cases we've gone beyond the books, as well as stuff from the books being left out or going in significantly different directions. It was weird, but not bad, that I had so many opportunities to be surprised along with the newbies.

Also, Theon ain't a Stark.

And she didn't confess all her sins, not by a long shot. Plus, she outright lied about the incest thing. Still, that people felt any sympathy for Cersei was all about Lena Headey killing so thoroughly on this show—she's been great all along, but this episode was amazing.

(side note: I swear I've seen something very similar to that "everyone takes a stab" scene in some other show or movie. Anyone have any ideas?)

It could be a technical truth, since people brought back by the Red God's power are apparently fundamentally changed in the process. SO, technically, if they say "Jon Snow" is dead, that may be true (or, at least, "true"), because resurrected Jon Snow would be different.

Actually, my assumption from the book wasn't so much that he'd be brought back to life as that somehow he didn't die in the first place. Either way, though, if Jon Snow is actually DEAD dead on the show, I'll eat my hat.

When I clicked start, the episode minute counter showed an hour & twelve minutes, getting my hopes up. But between a longer previously-on & a longer after-show, it worked out to be about a normal sized ep, alas.

Yeah, just as I was wondering whether she was high up enough to die upon impact, & wondering what she'd hit (straw? a cart?)—SMACK. No doubt she hit head-first on stone pavement. Well done (& of course well-deserved).

The books are at least a little cagey about whether Ser Robert Strong is really The Mountain re-animated, but I thought he show made it super obvious. Also, though we couldn't see his face & he didn't speak, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson's name was in the final credits.

Somewhere else here someone suggested that that naughty Sand Snake bit his ear or something, implying that Bronn just got poisoned again, but I didn't see that at all. We also didn't see any follow-up to suggest that that happened. We didn't see Bronn get woozy or die or anything—in fact, after they got on the little

Shit—how did this end up here? I was replying to a specific comment, about whether Ellaria Sand had sacrificed herself to poison Myrcella. Stupid Disqus.

Well, we know that she can't have kids, right? And maybe some of those who had been in Drogo's khalassar with her would remember that?

At the end of ADwD, she's found by the khalassar led by Jhaqo, formerly one of Khal Drogo's men, so he'd recognize her, anyway (as would some of the others, one would assume).

That's what I was thinking, though it would have been helpful if we'd seen that ring before. At least I don't remember seeing it.

I don't think so. Right before Olly came to fetch him, Jon was at his desk reading letters, & Longclaw was leaning on the wall behind him. He ran out of the room pretty fast, & I didn't see him grab his sword.
