And posting it twice isn't going to make us want to go to your website more.

Who's to say, @avclub-2a6ac9e5324952e36b40237cf2fcdad8:disqus?

@@vicomtepicabia:disqus:  It was a dumb joke amongst some college friends, but to this day, 20-odd-years later, I still mentally add, "I hardly even KNOW 'er!" to the word "poker".

The version of the Vulgate that the Vatican currently has online (http://www.vatican.va/archi… ) is the newest edition (i.e., with the most up-to-date scholarship informing the manuscript readings).  Not sure when that textual problem was addressed, but the official Latin Vulgate doesn't have anything that even

Milton's a good guess, @menocu:disqus , but I'm too busy (by which I mean lazy) to follow up.

One can only hope, @avclub-1e850f6bef0bc36ca1f64e95ff1cbd2e:disqus .  One can only hope.

Even in St. Jerome's landmark Latin translation, the fruit is generic (fructus) not specifically an apple (mâlum).  I assume someone somewhere along the line liked the Latin pun between the word for apple (mâlum, with a long A) and evil (malum, with a short A).

@avclub-81e42ebe6b44656990ff91adfd49b5f7:disqus brings to mind a fantastic exchange between Gonzo & Miss Piggy on the John Denver & the Muppets Christmas special, during "We Wish You a Merry Christmas".

I don't care if this is just a C, she gives a great interview.  She was awesome on the Nerdist podcast last week—well worth a listen, even if you're not a fan.

I watched one of his videos before, but it was a while ago, so I forget what song he was breaking down.  Thanks for sharing that—damn, that was fun.  Guy looks like he's having a BLAST!

That's insane. You're stupid.  You should sleep late, man—it's just much easier on your constitution.

Fun Fact; John Paul Jones did the arrangement & played bass on "Hurdy Gurdy Man".  There seems to be some confusion as to whether Jimmy Page & John Bonham also played on the track (so sez wikipedia).  To my ear, though, the drums really do sound like Bonzo.

I already did read the "expert" reviews for seasons 1 & 2, but not the comments.  And even though VanDerWerff does flag his spoilers, I do find it hard to turn away, so I did have one thing spoiled.  Anyways, if I read all 5 books before watching season three & can read the reviews in toto as well as the comments.

Yeah, I might try to get all 5 books read by then.  I really wouldn't mind having the book spoiled by the show, @avclub-c26473f2f4772a2a52e4690515ce6e75:disqus —I just don't want the book and/or the show spoiled by Entertainment Weekly or VanDerWerff.

Finally started A Song of Ice and Fire this summer, with an eye towards finally starting to watch Game of Thrones.  Read A Game of Thrones, then watched season one in less than a week.  Read A Clash of Kings, then watched season two in less than a week.  Started A Storm of Swords as soon as I got it, & have read

And A Few Good Men.
And The American President.
And The Social Network.

You might already know this, @avclub-410525841bbf485b7c29db7db4da9b18:disqus , but Sorkin is playing off a famous Biblical passage.  In John's Gospel, Peter asks Jesus, "Domine, quo vadis?" ("Where are you [sing.] going, Lord?"), to which Jesus replies "Quo vado, non potes me modo sequi, sequeris autem postea" ("Where

Maybe try using one of those big exercise balls as a seat, @avclub-d1348cfe54a94fe6f986775cedd75fdd:disqus —might help with the restlessness without requiring such a total workspace overhaul.  A few teachers at the school where I work use 'em, & one or two even have all the kids in class using 'em, too.

Because of my hectic schedule, I was late in re-watching the end of season 2 & even later in reading up on your reviews, @donnadb:disqus , but I'll go ahead & say, a month after the fact, that I enjoyed this journey tremendously.  Thanks for giving us (Mrs. Neophyte & I) an excuse to re-watch the whole series & not

Nope.  Not even if it were THAT cheap.
