Veggietales called this shit over a decade ago.

Why not? The warranty will probably cover the holes the rods punch through your hood..

This. I really wish David or Andrew were writing all the content here. They seem to be the only balanced automotive viewpoints of the writing staff. Its like everyone else hates cars or car culture. I have always loved Jalopnik for its irreverence and counter culture attitude, but it seems like most of the writers

Under no circumstance should any published media have this line:

Oh, I think even back to the time of Mad Men the theorists understood that, as products got more complex, ever-increasing equity flowed to the brand. so, yeah, there’s probably a lot of brand loyalty in all this.

I feel the exact opposite. I think Tokyo Drift may be the STRONGEST F&F movie made.

He’s just tryin’ to manage his trucking business as best he can!

Did you just come home from your job as an insurance agent?

You’re exactly right. I live near the Toyota/Mazda plant that’s being built in North Alabama, and about a dozen more supplier plants are coming in too, each with 200-400 jobs like you said, each with a name that means nothing to anyone outside the industry.

Knowing what we know now, yeah, that was stupid, but at the time it wasn’t like Buell was a huge sales success. Plus, the entire motorcycle industry got thrown into a huge downward spiral, so big moves were needed to stay solvent. During the recession (when Buell was killed) total motorcycle sales declined over 40% in

Seriously. We haven’t had real money since we moved off the gold standard in the 70's anyhow. It’s all just pretend numbers we believe in enough to legitimize.

Or a more likely scenario. Big 3 go under—all those jobs lost. Tesla can’t make up all those jobs.

I want to support this site by allowing ads. Really I do. Jalopnik has provided me with over a decade of information and entertainment.

“Back in April, a Tornado inflicted severe damage on auto suppl(i)er BorgWarner’s facility in Seneca, S.C.”

Jim Spanfeller is a herb and has the reverse Midas touch, everything he comes in contact with turns to shit.

The country is, ostensibly, already $20,000,000,000,000 in debt to itself and we aren’t doing anything to pay ourselves back.  Clearly none of it really matters

Um... one problem with your logic. If no one is working, where does the unemployment money come from? I realize this may be the beginning of the socialist utopia you’ve always dreamed of, but eventually you’ll have to wake up and realize it’s not sustainable.

Harley has had issues for decades, going back way before the recession.  They’ve struggled more than they’ve succeeded by a large margin.  They had a short lived peak in the mid-2000s which they were, in typical fashion, unprepared for and could not satisfy the demand hence the waiting list.  On top of all of that,
