Whatever man. I’m just not buying chevrolets advertising fairytale that you can walk into a dealer and get a $45k truck for $35k day in and day out. You want to talk capabilities or compare usage then let’s debate, but you keep throwing out these meaningless deals that are available a month out of the year on one

Either way it’s GVWR - Curb Weight. For a higher trim subtract the increase in curb weight. Per google the last gen had 84lbs curb weight separating the highest trim from the lowest. That still puts it >100 lbs ahead.

Yup. And I think that’s pretty solid for the segment. It’s not a Prius but it’s 10% or more ahead of the competition. Without spending up for a diesel I don't think you're going to do better from a pure mileage point of view.

Haha I drive a full size. I just love trolling wanna be queer bashers like you who don’t know shit but love spouting off about an “under engineered” truck that can haul more than your rusty Ram can.

Lol the “under engineered” Ridgeline has a higher payload than your shitty Ram. 1586 vs 1550.

Perhaps you’re right. I can’t find any qualifications, only that it applies to 10% of select dealer stock models. I’d like to believe since that’s basically the spec I’d buy if I had $35k burning a hole in my pocket.

I’d guess that the answer is “because they have a pilot so why not round out the product line with relatively small investment”. They probably won't have to sell a ton to break even since it shares so much with pilot.

1584 for the AWD base model I’m assuming. Autoblog had the exact number. And yeah it wouldn’t like the whole 6k trailer thing being rated for 5k and all. All my point is that except for towing and off road the Ridgeline holds its own more than people realize.

For your usage it totally makes sense to get a different truck. For others who get a 4x4 truck and never even engage low range the Ridgeline makes what I think are some reasonable trade offs.

Direct evidence of what? Pretty sure I’ve made a solid case that a stripper model Chevy with a half ass back seat and a V6 isn’t magically completely superior to a Ridgeline. Can it tow more, sure, can it be had for a little more money than a Ridgeline? Yes. Is it better by default? I don’t think it is (and I drive a

You started it.

That’s definitely a choice you have to make. I’d point that the Ridgeline is a good bit cheaper than the Colorado and unless you need the extra capability of the low range and extra towing then the mileage and ride will outweigh the idea of a “more capable” truck in day to day life. I know for my preferences a deep

Damn so even less than I thought. That's right at 200lbs less than Ridgeline. At least it's got a hemi I guess...

Yeah you can (maybe) get a V6 Chevy a shitty little back seat and rubber floors for $31k* Not sure what that proves when it only tows 7k and has 150lbs more payload capacity. So much for getting all that extra truck for the same money.

Sure why not. I never thought to substitute a Versa for an LTZ Silverado. Tavarish and Tom look out! JimZ is here to dispel the lies spread by Big Pickup.

Sorry for not using Chevy marketing speak for the squished rear seat model that replaced the extended cab. They have the same interior space.

Yeah I understand how numbers work, it’s Ford/Chevy/Ram that struggle with the concept since (for example) Fords new aluminum Wundertruck throws around these ridiculous 24mpg numbers when the fleet average is barely cracking 17 whereas Honda is actually hitting a reasonable combined average for its ratings.

What do you want it to be? What would make you happy? 30? It’s not like the full sizers are actually hitting their numbers anyway. One look at fuelly shows that these newer trucks that are highway rated for 24mpg are averaging 16-17. The old ridgeline which was only highway rated for 15/21? It’s averaging 17-18.7

I’m just playing for the away team today since everybody like to shit on this thing. The Ridgeline isn’t just cheaper, it’s dramatically cheaper than any full size with leather. Your typical LTZ or Lariat with 4x4 is $50k by the time you add the trailer hitch and bed liner (things that are standard on the Ridgeline).
