It costs less than half that to service a DSG here in the midwest at an indy at least. Dealerships will for sure charge you much more. If you can change your own oil, you can service a DSG, tho.

That’s because recent VAG and BMW cars are very fast with a few thousand on top of the car purchase. You used to have to spend thousands to make an extra 50 whp - now you can spend $599 on a flash tune that’ll add 100 whp to a stock unmodified N55 or 75 whp to a EA888.

Sounds like you’re mixing up “tuner scene” with “broke kids with cars and more ambitions than money”. They are not the same thing.

2013 and 2008 here. The daily is the 2008 and I’m coming up on the choice to sink 3k in parts into it, after which it should be almost bulletproof or find something new - sigh.
