For that price I hope a buyer would be also considering an ideally modified or a cherry mk4 R32. Read more

Exactly. The prices of things are inconsequential right now. If you haven’t figured out how to play the game after six years without spending real time or $ on it. Well. Read a little.

I agree with you 100000000000000%. I read news articles in a few seconds as a break from working. A video gets ignored instantly. Same with looking for help on the internet. Read more

It costs less than half that to service a DSG here in the midwest at an indy at least. Dealerships will for sure charge you much more. If you can change your own oil, you can service a DSG, tho.

I drive on 235/235/19 or 225/40/18 - hankook rs3, rs4, indy firehawk500, michellen pss, yamaha iceguard - the last 10 years - no issues. it seems like a personal problem you’re ranting about here.

Who do we have to gently influence to get a wagon version of this? And better powerplants. Ugh. Imagine a S55 or N55 (not that up on BMWs) wagon instead of these 2.0Ts especially since there’s no 335d anymore. I have been looking for a new daily and so far nothing is ringing that bell. I already have a stripped out Read more

That’s because recent VAG and BMW cars are very fast with a few thousand on top of the car purchase. You used to have to spend thousands to make an extra 50 whp - now you can spend $599 on a flash tune that’ll add 100 whp to a stock unmodified N55 or 75 whp to a EA888.

Sounds like you’re mixing up “tuner scene” with “broke kids with cars and more ambitions than money”. They are not the same thing.

New phones are toys. Just like certain models of cars are toys. Some people want a new toy vs. only using the car/phone as an appliance only.

2013 and 2008 here. The daily is the 2008 and I’m coming up on the choice to sink 3k in parts into it, after which it should be almost bulletproof or find something new - sigh.

My garage opener is from 1987 and my washing machine and dryer are both from 1989. I only know this because I got each of these appliances Read more

Wifi hot spots, blind spot sensors, back up camera, 360 camera, bumper cover sensors, rain sensors, heated rear or steering wheel, variable cruise control, etc. are all useless electronic add ons that we don’t need but usually “have” to pay for because its baked into the base car price or its in the single package you Read more

You do your own maintenance so a GTI is out? I have both a GTI and a R32 and do my own maintenance with no issues. I am not a handy person at all.

I was considering that Helix sub for the mk5. Either that, a hidden side sub for the trunk, or a kicker. How does it sound? Have you had any aftermarket 10 or 12in subs in an aftermarket system before?
