New phones are toys. Just like certain models of cars are toys. Some people want a new toy vs. only using the car/phone as an appliance only.

2013 and 2008 here. The daily is the 2008 and I’m coming up on the choice to sink 3k in parts into it, after which it should be almost bulletproof or find something new - sigh.

My garage opener is from 1987 and my washing machine and dryer are both from 1989. I only know this because I got each of these appliances

If we went to a domestic manufacturer there would be entire missing buttons or just blank plastic covers...

And you can actually use those controls vs. a digital touch screen.

Wifi hot spots, blind spot sensors, back up camera, 360 camera, bumper cover sensors, rain sensors, heated rear or steering wheel, variable cruise control, etc. are all useless electronic add ons that we don’t need but usually “have” to pay for because its baked into the base car price or its in the single package you

You do your own maintenance so a GTI is out? I have both a GTI and a R32 and do my own maintenance with no issues. I am not a handy person at all.

I was considering that Helix sub for the mk5. Either that, a hidden side sub for the trunk, or a kicker. How does it sound? Have you had any aftermarket 10 or 12in subs in an aftermarket system before?

I was ungrayed somewhere - I thought on Jalop; but maybe it faded or it was a different blog. Either way... sad.

When a car has that many pumps installed it’s because the installer didn’t do it right. They were tricky to install properly. Many indies and dealerships were not / are not doing it correctly.

I had only ever drove one car - a 2003 Infinit fx35, then I bought a golf. It’s 2019. I now work part time @ a VAG shop (I have a full time desk job) and I own 2 golfs.

My old 2003 Infiniti FX24 had a bad throttle body sensor and couldn’t idle. In the middle of rush hour it died. In the middle of I480 when I was in the middle lane. Couldn’t get out of the car, couldn’t start the car for fifteen minutes. Two weeks later this happened again and the next day I traded that thing in for a

I ended up buying a GTI because of the interior. In 2013, these cars still looked amazing, especially in the R-line or Polestar variants. But the interior and the transmission were garbage and my 2003 FX35 had a nicer interior with more options than a brand new 2013 loaded C30. I couldn’t get past that plus the

I just posted a comment to this effect. I think that GTI or R is the answer. Sporty, fun to drive, huge aftermarket - and when you give it back to the daughter you can flash back to stock and keep it in a stock format.

Also how did I lose my star?

Corrados are extremely old. Especially for anyone who wants a modern car experience.

Best is both - some type of normal touchscreen like we are all used to - as well as reasonable button back ups. Why? Because in a car that moves, you want to make sure that there are easy ways to hit things like back, fwd, yes, no, whatever.

I’d like to disagree a bit. I had an expired passport and needed to travel internationally for work a week after I realized I’d let the damn thing expire. I used a expediting service (fortunately got it expensed later) and had a new passport within 48 hours without having to do anything more than pay some money and

Got one as a gift a few years ago from the grandma. Thought it was ridiculous. Now use it for 80% of my dinners - rice, meat, stews - everything gets cooked in there and maybe finished in a pan.

The new wagon polestars are pretty exciting, but I’ve always had a softspot for hatches. Any rumors or insight about a replacement for the C30s? I’d love a smurf-blue hot hatch.

I’ve read them all. Many many many times. =p
