Last year’s kdrama sleeper hit came out before the scandal, but is also a deliciously campy take on college admissions scandals. 100 percent recommend.

My then-2-year-old was talking to his same-age cousin, looking at a set of alphabet cards. When they got to “Z,” the cousin said, “It’s Z, for [Z name]!” My son, looking at it from the side, said, “No, it’s “N” for ‘nnocuous!”
Dead on. I was thinking Suburu for the same reason. Reads like an outdoorsy Volvo, which is def. the sort of car that all sorts of people buy for reasons that have nothing to do with status.
If I...
I’d love to see a treatment of the early years, which strike me as way more interesting.
sorry, you’re absolutely right. most standard ice trays are 2 tbl, not a 1/4 cup.
I mean... tomato paste is fairly firm. Take a piece of baking paper and a tablespoon, scoop a tablespoon of paste, and then give it a firm PLUNK unto the baking paper. Neaten as necessary. Do that with the whole can, and freeze on the paper. When it’s frozen, pull of the baking paper and throw the little circles of…
JS’s mention below about covers my knowledge. I don’t work in that space though, so my knowledge is limited. I agree though... with so many parenting blogs (or any of a number of other types of similar blogs), the research to back it up is hard to find or non-existent.
Thanks!
I’m failing to find it right now, but I think her opinion is based on research that kids interpret praise and rewards as evidence that whatever they’re doing is basically unpleasant. The theory is that kids should be helped to find the inherent pleasure in it rather than receive an outside reward. I’ll respond again…
Man, that’s a lot of Peak Jude Law Hotness (Talented Mr. Ripley AND Gattaca).
Iced coffee + milk/sugar + 1 shot vodka: Sorta a White Russian.
Soups/stews/curries also are very kind to some frozen vegetables. Frozen isn’t fresh, but can be OK and quite cost-effective in that context. My super cheap/healthy/vegan faves involve a mix of fresh and frozen. Thai curry with fresh peppers/frozen cauliflower. Moroccan lentils with fresh carrots and celery, alongside …
I went through a couple before I got to my perfect solution, which was a Micralite Fastfold: air tires, 15 pounds even, unbelievably smooth ride, super easy to fold and store, even easier to bump up and down steps.. I took it with me to Jerusalem and Istanbul, and it was AMAZING. I ended up accidentally on a walk that…
Have you looked at Motherhood Maternity? They aren’t particularly fashionable or great, but for super basic pants, they’re cheap and fit the bill.
I’m in general agreement with you, but I will say, I think the $500 stroller at least began as an urban thing for utilitarian reasons. They’ve become suburban status symbols now, but I think there’s absolutely a reason to get a $500 stroller for many urban parents.
Yeah, this is my take-away too. Like, I’d bet money for example that evangelical Christian men consume as much porn, and as enthusiastically, as anyone else, but they may have more difficulty justifying a trip to Vegas for it. So if you take out the reactionary types who might be less likely to be so overt in their…
I view grammar like I view grooming. There’s a certain level of grooming required to exist in the world, and then there are extra things you can do to appear more polished. Similarly, reasonably good grammar will make you understood, but exceptional grammar sounds polished.
