I'm a mom of 3 and I get very upset when other women use their kids as an excuse to get out of work early, or come in late. I think what upsets me most, is that they don't even seem to feel the need to make an excuse. Just a declarative statement. "blah, blah, blah, kid stuff, blah, blah". No apology, no waiting…

Get a dog. Use it as an excuse.

And she was my bff since grade school. Her husband had to go to job training for the last 3 months of her pregnancy and I was the one there, holding her hand (her family is out of the picture). I was the second one to hold the baby.

That's just being selfish. If anything, they have time when the baby is that little because they sleep all the time!

A recently new-babied friend declined to call, text or email for 7 months. She finally called, wondering why I sounded irate with her, and I finally said, "What, did you break your fucking HANDS in the delivery room?"
