You have to figure that all his kids must have giant heads.
I think that’s what they’re doing too, and I think it’s a good decision for the show. Might as well keep around a beloved character people have known from the beginning instead of introducing a bunch of randos who essentially fulfill the same purpose (a Scottish person who feels loyalty to Lord Jamie and helps him…
That’s my suspicion. I think it’s frankly easier on the audience from the producer’s perspective to use characters we know. Just like having Rupert in the beginning of the season. They know fans like Murtagh and now don’t have to introduce another character. It seems practical to me.
“But come on, who could be mad at seeing more of Murtagh?”
Murtagh was definitely no longer in the books by this point. I believe in a later book Jamie tells Claire he died at Culloden, but didn’t know or blacked out the details. I wouldn’t be surprised if he does replace Duncan, they definitely fill a similar narrative purpose and it would be really nice to keep the…
Isn’t that the sign against the evil eye?
There’s an old saying that goes “The person who wants the job least might be the best person for the job.”
OK, but for real, where’s the season 3 post?
At least the dude playing Roger was a delight
oh, i concurr. Her independence came from not having some awful Englush biarding school beat the intelligence and spirit out of her!
Although Frank was in an awkward position (I *guess*...), it also served as a juxtaposition between how he handled Claire being disrespected, and how Jamie would have handled it. Further, Claire had no problem sticking up for herself in the 18th century - whether against Dougal, Colum, the Scots, or the Brits - when…
Wholeheartedly agree. I’m like...UGH...we already know she goes back. This feels all like filler. I would have liked it more if we didn’t know she could go back and it builds to that. Now I’m not all that caring what happens in the future timeline as it will be mooted when she leaves again.
Amy’s is actually all-vegetarian and has a good selection of vegan items. (I had her vegetable korma dish for lunch today.)
I am obsessed (OBSESSED), but zero people in my circle are even willing to read the books. I am on my second read through of the series (middle of Fiery Cross) and I am so happy posts like this connect me to other fans!
Hello fellow ACOA. Thank you for acknowledging some people are damaged beyond repair. It is not something our positive thinking BS culture has any framework to address, but it the truth of the human experience.
Plus what cracks me up is Galbadon with all her attitude about what a serious writer she is blah, blah, blah—GGGGG! xxoocf
I finally got to the end of the last (published) book. Anyone else went to the books from the series? There’s something really refreshing about the author’s style, though I can’t lay my finger on it entirely. It’s like it’s raw but tart and unapologetic.
This delightful work was self-published. As someone who occasionally engages in the editing task, I’d like to believe this shit would’ve never made it past an editor...
