For Chicago, I’d go with the Art Institute or Symphony Hall. Even the Field Museum is more likely to be cherished than the Willis Sears Tower.

I might add any of the Presidential Memorials in Washington, particularly the Lincoln Memorial, or even Independence Hall in Philadelphia.
I imagine a case could be made for the Sydney Opera House to fall into that category. Obviously, not an ornate, breathtaking cathedral; but rather, an example of a distinctive, “modern” structure that will probably be cherished as a landmark in the distant future.
