Can’t you basically already do this with an EZFlash or EverDrive?

There are a million cheaper, nicer devices for portably playing ROMs on the go - I’d recommend the channel Retro Game Corps for some nice reviews of portable emulation devices that support ROMs out of the box, have better ergonomics and portability, and cover a wider variety of systems than this bit of kit.

Eh, I find is really weird that Analogue, a company with a pretty polarizing reputation in the FPGA community, now want other FPGA devs to make cores for it’s product essentially for free.

Maybe you guys should talk to some of these community devs to get their perspective on it rather than just cheerlead for Analogue.

I looked into various “emulator handhelds” and none seemed to check all the boxes for me. Eventually I settled on doing custom firmware to “jailbreak” a 3DS. Took some work, but it plays everything I want.

There are way better alternatives AND way cheaper if you want roms.

I wonder how many games had lies in the store art. Maybe outright lies, maybe just not updating the art when the review score shifted.

Anything that keeps the Steam storefront from looking like a circa 2005 Myspace page is a good thing. You can show your accolades, just not all over the cover.

No idea why fans insist on making fandubs. Professional dubs are usually acceptable at best and unbearable at worst, what makes fans think they can do a better job? If they want a piece of Japanese media to be accessible to more people, just subtitle it. It’s faster and doesn’t bastardize the original vision.

I actually love the idea of just going well for one year we are gonna overcharge all these NFT companies to come and talk here, it’ll be an easier year for us to organise from a financial perspective and help future years too. Then we are gonna burn and nuke that bridge to the ground and make fun of all the NFT…

I’m just going to say, this was also most attendees attitude towards NFTs during GDC this year. Those NFT people were everywhere and super annoying, and they were the only ones that wanted themselves there.

If you just give them this space uncontested, you’re just giving them exactly what they want, and buying their narrative that they’re relevant.

One of the concerns about the newest variants, however, is one has mutated spike proteins. This could potentially defeat the vaccines which rely on that marker. It could very well become the dominant strain. I would say some additional caution is wise until we’ve had time to study the ramifications.
