What I’m not seeing is a reason to use a blockchain for this at all. If Ubisoft wanted to offer limited edition, unique cosmetics to their games they could do so already. They could track player inventory for cosmetics like they already do. They could facilitate trading of items between players like you can with Steam

But, as has been pointed out in the past, that’s been a solved problem for a long time. Friggin’ Baldur’s Gate 2 was able to figure out that I had the Golden Pantaloons from the first game way back in 2000. Modern games with server-based player accounts only make this easier.

Same. Not even just due to shit like this though. They’ve pumped their ips for so much money that they’ve sucked all the joy out of them. Each game is just a tedious, repetitive rehash of the previous one. Even their new ips are just reskins of their old ones.

I'm pretty sure I'll never play an Ubisoft game again

Yup, just look at the comments. Buncha weird techbros jerking each other off about blockchain and continuing to claim "you just don't understand man..."

Oh cool so it’s pay-to-win *and* you can murder some rainforest at the same time.

Will he say he has hates Mondays, oh wait, they are too fucking poor to pay for voices.

Yeah but I can at least play the game. With an NFT I have.. literally nothing.

Yes, someone claiming to own the Assassin’s Creed IP because they bought and play their games would be an idiot on the level of a NFT bro.

It’d be a real shame if the Tezos blockchain suddenly became a target for the kind of attacks that, er, every other high profile NFT exchange has been subject to.

But this had to do with pirating and hacking of the Switch. So no real access excuse here.

and charge a nominal fee

If they’re showing concept images, why do they show devices that look less comfortable than what’s currently available? How tight are those straps to keep those massive goggles plastered to the faces of those unfortunate souls? Unless Sony actually discovered some new anti-gravity technology, and has decided that the

I want to be excited by it, I really do.

But we can’t rule out the possibility it really is Keanu Reeves doing a really good job of acting like he’s a lifeless and poorly-animated digital replica of himself.

Oh no, it’s fantastic! It’s super smooth 99% of the time. I played it pretty much 50/50 docked and handheld, and never had any issues. I can’t really imagine playing it any other way, it just plays so good on handheld.

It runs beautifully.

This is 100% CG. It seems super obvious to me.

Yeah there’s clearly no debate, it’s clearly them showing off their MetaHuman tool.
The perception of a “debate” is just part of the PR strategy

I like to think I have a good eye for this stuff, and that is absolutely a CG Keanu we’re seeing. Seeing just a static image would have fooled me, but after seeing it in motion I can tell by the way he moves that it’s CG.
