The funny thing about all these developers signing on to this is that "gamers" aren't even really mad at them specifically, they're more mad at the "press" and "journalists" that have been pushing one sided agendas.

But the big issue right now is not hate. It's journalistic and developer integrity.

I want to put out a well-reasoned reply, but to be honest, I'm just about at my limit when it comes to the internet, most particularly games journalism and game philosophy. But here's a stab at it anyways:

It's an issue with journalism. Journalists are supposed to be impartial, unbiased sources of information. Sleeping with someone you're reporting about is absolutely going to alter how you cover any news related to them.

I prefer it this way where not everyone who comes on the floor looks like a corporate shill. Someone dressed like they work in a bank does not inspire me to buy their games. Someone who looks like an actual every day gamer might though. If a guy comes on stage in a tutu I am more likely to buy their games than someone
