I'm surprised there isn't a scale figure of Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann yet.

My extent of anime fandom is generally just watching the shows and movies and I usually consider anime figurines to be kinda creepy. But Gurren Lagann? I'd make an exception for that.

Mako is best girl of all best girls.

The show's had 12 episodes so far and is at its midway point. Its not exactly "brand new." Brand new is one or two episodes. I think the show's been on long enough for people to choose their waifu.

Especially with the Ryuko cosplayer. She's one brave soul.

Probably the first Gipsy Danger cosplay I've seen. Warms my heart to see Pacific Rim get some love in the country that inspired it.

I can see it replacing Soul Eater or Sword Art Online when they are finished, which should be around the end of February or beginning of March. (Blue Exorcist will be replacing one of those as well) Toonami and Funi have been synchronizing really well lately, what with grabbing Space Dandy and having it premiere

Yeah, it does continue to have intense episodes, and it really doesn't get as cliche as he said, imho. Without going into spoilers, the next few episodes after the first are a buildup for a major battle that is when the story really begins.

That perfectly encapsulated everything one needs to know about modern-day KyoAni.

Trends seem to indicate it may be turning around. AoT was none of those. Kill la Kill is, among many, many other things, basically a massive satire on Japanese high schools taken to 11. Those have been the biggest shows of the past year. The upcoming, much hyped Space Dandy looks like nothing that has been seen in

Ironically, it kinda fits the spirit of the show by not having it on the list. But yeah, it would be on mine too. 'Tis a shame it was such a short series and it hasn't done so well in Blu-Ray sales. Maybe it hit a bit too close to home with Japanese otaku.

'Twas the 80s, man. That's all you need to know. The 80s.

Yeah, it almost feels like these kinds of reviewers are taking out the magic of watching a movie and making it into a inquiry that judges movies based upon a mechanical process that must be "airtight" according to their specifications, else it would fall under the jurisdiction of the Grand High Inquisitors of the

Yeah, people are too cynical these days. Pacific Rim outright tells you "This movie is a love letter to the simple joys of giant robots beating up giant monsters." It is honest and direct. It doesn't try to be anything else. Its a movie for everyone's inner 10 year old. If a person can't let their inner child out,

Didn't match where I live, but it did match where I was born, Baltimore. Kinda figures since my parents grew up around there. My accent is all over the place though, not very Baltimore-ish, more like "generic American" with various weird touches. I tend to roll my Rs in words like "alright" which I don't think anyone

Yeah, I'm from Western Md, not far from Pittsburgh, I like to watch British shows as well, usually Doctor Who, and I use a British pronunciation on occasion.

Same way with me. This seems to be happening to alot of people. I was big into anime about 10 years ago, but slowly dropped out because there wasn't anything that interested me. And now, boom, everyone's talking about anime again, including myself.

I think Crunchyroll, the return of Toonami, and the successes of Attack

I feel the same way. It can be a bit jarring in the first episode maybe, but once the show takes off, everything else towers over it; the character interaction, the fight scenes, the comedy, the creative use of animation. I just don't notice the fanservice anymore.

You know what the definition of being an adult is? Not caring whether someone likes "cartoons" or not.

This is most certainly not something one would show to children. And you think people are only watching it for the violence and fanservice? You think they're only watching it to say to themselves "DURR I'M SO NAUGHTY
