This is perhaps the world's best visual representation of a fangirl going "SQUEE" ever photographed.

I wonder if she can do the Hanji/Hange/however it's spelled Cosplay Challenge and try to talk about Titans all night long without stopping while an Eren cosplayer is forced to listen.

Dat Yoko o.o

Its going to be...interesting...when people begin cosplaying Ryuko from Kill la Kill.

Most anime are actually pretty mild compared to this. The team behind this are actually very influenced by western animation, so its more like the cartoons over here than you might think. They've even actually done a "western cartoon" a la Powerpuff Girls, called Panty and Stocking, though it is far more insane and

It deconstructs the magical girl genre, and reconstructs it into the shonen/looney tunes/wtf did I just watch genre.

I have a feeling that the anime will finish the "revenge story" by the midway point, but will grow into something much larger after that, much like Gurren Lagann.

Going from what we see in the OP, we're already almost halfway through the "lesser" villains of the week, and then its onto the 5 big villains. Same thing

That's how Trigger rolls. "We could do a 5-minute transformation sequence...or we could do it in 1 second and make it look like the most fucked up thing ever." "Fuck it, do it in 1 second."

Nobody's saying that anime can't be criticized. Hell, go to any anime forum and you'll see plenty of people criticizing various shows. If anything, alot of people think anime has gone downhill in the past few years, with the exception of a few standout shows like Attack on Titan. Weeabooism has really fallen out of

Check out the show, it really is pretty hilarious and ridiculously over-the-top. you can catch it on various streaming services like Crunchyroll, Daisuki and Hulu.

The show really hammers on the fact that the outfit is completely ridiculous. Most shows don't have anyone comment on the silliness of fanservicy outfits. This one does, hell even the villains of the week think its stupid. I'm pretty sure the show's creators are being subversive about the whole sexy battle outfit

Not only is it a cartoon, its the most cartoony anime to come out of Japan in years. It sometimes feels like watching Looney Tunes at times. So, yeah, complaining about the violence in this is like complaining about the violence Bugs Bunny does to Elmer Fudd. The show does not take itself seriously. At all.

Yeah, still kind of early to tell.

Frankly, I'm not surprised. They're ex-Gainax guys. Gainax practically invented fan-service.

I don't think many people are watching for the fan-service. Its the spiritual successor to Gurren Lagann They're mostly watching to see how badass, over-the-top and crazy the show can get.

Yeah, the show is exactly like Gureen Lagann, where absurdity actually drives the plot. The context of the outfit is less "Hey, that's sexy" and more like "Hey, that's a really stupid outfit to do battle in." There's a theory is that the outfit will actually become less skimpy as the season rolls on and she becomes

Well they're not being entirely too serious about it. The show makes a big point about how stupid that outfit is. Hell, her enemy of the episode laughs at it, before he gets pummeled.

I'm exactly the same as you. Took years off from anime, came back, caught up with some shows I've missed and really enjoyed Attack on Titan and currently enjoying Kill la Kill.

But yeah, there's a big glurge of (mostly moe) anime out there that just doesn't appeal to me. At least I'm fine with the current system of one

Yeah, I just recently gotten back into watching anime after a long term of absence. For a long time, I couldn't find any show I thought that was worth watching. Then I discovered that many of them are being streamed now and found some good shows that I missed. But yeah, there's still a lot of shows that don't interest

The way I see it is that Trigger is an iconoclast company. Trigger doesn't give any fucks about what tropes are currently popular with otaku. Trigger does what Trigger does because Trigger is Trigger.

Kill la Kill is like Gurren Lagann. Trigger takes the basic premise of a common genre: mecha for Gurrenn Lagann and

Check out Kill la Kill. It may take place at a school, and the main character may be a girl, but its most certainly NOT a typical schoolgirl anime.

If you've ever seen Gurren Lagann, you may have an idea what I mean.

It depends on taste. If one were a big fan of Trigger's previous work (including when they were at Gainax) like FLCL, Gurren Lagann, Panty and Stocking and Little Witch Academia, which alot of people are, then one might enjoy it.

To me, it's a blast of fresh air. Trigger are iconoclasts, they do not follow the same

It actually seemed that they were parodying that whole "Skimpy Battle Suit" trope, which, knowing Trigger, is something they'd totally do. She was blushing throughout the entire battle, noticeably embarrassed, and even her opponent was making fun of her for it.
