I was just coming here to say there needs to be way more Crystal Dunn love on this blog. She did an excellent job defensively shutting down attackers coming down the right side and then helped greatly with quick counterattacks. I really wanted her shot to go in there against the Netherlands.

This team is my main source of happiness right now.

I feel much better about her ability to shut down Diani after today’s match. I think it will be tough but Dunn had good positioning to disrupt forward play and was able to get back quickly when needed.

I forgot about her yellow so hopefully this is the case, her physical presence will be very important in slowing down the French midfield.

This was the worst game to watch so far. Does FIFA has racism issues yes, was the officiating in this particular game evidence of that-nope. Also Phil Neville should be focusing on how his own team is going to beat Norway instead of focusing on an opponent they beat.

I don’t know why the Deadspin consensus is that Dunn isn’t doing well at left back. She did well against Sweden, she pretty much shut down all attacking runs coming down her side and has been playing that position for the national team for the past year.

They completely switched out their normal starting back line for this match for reasons that are not entirely clear.
