You ever watched the national anthem coverage for a NASCAR race? So many of the race crews and drivers are doing "non-patriotic/un-soulful" things, and either quickly fumble to adjust when they see the red light on the camera, or the coverage shamefully switches away. Somehow, it is just the most American thing.
