Using Dearborn as an example is laughable. It is actually an example of assimilation based on conservative immigration policies, meaning low numbers of immigrants overtime. Dearborn has had a long, long history of Arab immigration. Also, as a country, there is not a significant Muslim population (less than 1%).

So basically, you deny reality to indulge in your liberal fantasy. It has resisted assimilation because there is no reason to assimilate. Liberal governments tell the native population to accommodate the immigrant population, not the other way around. Dunno what world you have been living in.
