I grew up in the South and watched football for years. But knowing now what it does to the players, I can’t watch it anymore. I can’t participate in a system that celebrates players for a few short years and then leaves them broken, hurting, and confused for the rest of their now short lifetime.

Politics Corner - Most of you follow the news, so you know that Trump struck a deal with Dems today to lift the debt ceiling and fund the government for 3 months. The GOP wanted an 18 month deal tied to Harvey relief to lift the debt ceiling because it would push the issue out past the midterms. If you’re the party in

I find that it makes me value their content less too. They are still writing at a level of quality that is far and away above the rest of the Gawker-corpse collective they’ve been lumped in with, but because it’s jammed awkwardly into this hideously unprofessional layout, I’m finding that my mind is just not absorbing

“TV network who does(I assume a “not” was supposed to go here) have the confidence to put it on the actual broadcast after.”

CBS doesn’t lack confidence in Star Trek. Just the reverse, they are using Star Trek to try to save their butts.

TV comedy veteran Amy Pietz (Caroline in the City) was very funny last year in the CW series “No Tomorrow”. I just don’t know if she’s enough to draw me to a *travelling family band comedy* (shudder). The notion that a show so VERY un-cable-sounding made it to cable implies there’s more there than it seems. But

Stop trying to make Jason Ritter a thing. This is like the fifth year in a row he’s starring in some new show. He’s not a leading man, he’s fine as the boyfriend, best friend, grown son - but not the lead. He’s not his Dad - Hollywood didn’t try to make John into a singing cowboy.

I don’t know how I missed hearing about Tin Star, but based on what was written above, it sounds like it might be worth checking out.

More accurate to call it the first Trek show with a non-CO lead then.

I’m giving Inhumans a shot. That huge dog is too much cuteness to pass up.

Exvellent point. I try not to say “this is obviously going to be exploitative trash that mines horrors that still haunt the living survivors with sensationalist bullshit lies” until there is proof that is the case.

And the rules for supplements are so lax (thanks to Orrin Hatch) that if he can’t sell what he wants to, it probably means he’s got a warehouse full of horse cum and expired dexedrine he’s trying to unload.

What?

Any libertarian complaining about the FDA because he wants to sell “nutritional supplements” is worthy of public scorn.

It was my first introduction to Bananas Foster; and Emma Del Monte was shockingly good, too.

Does marketing for a nutritional supplement company, but hates the FDA? How unexpected.

And now that I’ve actually read his website...So he hates the FDA because he’s a con-artist who wants to sell “nutritional supplements”? It checks out.

Like we’re supposed to believe this shit doesn’t own any fedoras.

Man, I wish they would’ve given a a second season to Bananaheads. Amy Sherman Palladino deserved some room to tell that story.
