Why do those seem equivalent to you?

I commented at the time that I was not interested in watching a kid from a liberal household grow up to become a Republican. I was scolded by two Republican friends at the time.

You found Mavis!

Yes, burning alive is less humane than beheading or hanging. And invoking the guy who murdered his own daughter because a priest told him to is hardly good evidence to the contrary.

Art has social utility, and I'm not going to challenge the utility of any particular kind of art (I like superhero movies too). But no movie needs to be made. And there's a lot of daylight between negligence and safe. If we visit no economic consequence on studios for letting workers die, then they will live just

My thesis is that they can probably take more precaution than they do, it's just cheaper not to worry about it until the public changes the price of business as usual. Alternatively, everybody can just go back to making Edwardian drawing-room romances like they did in the early '90's. Either way.

There is something to be said for not having to spend anymore clock cycles than you absolutely have to after a long day. But it's not worth going to Applebee's.

Waffle House cooks with lard. That means it tastes better than most any other meal you have had in the past month. But you can't go there too often or your heart will explode.

The one I really hate right now is replacing the perfectly cromulent English word "lessons" with "learnings." "I enjoyed his presentation. I took several important learnings about our customer profile from it." No! What the fuck is wrong with you?

We have friends who really like it for some reason, so I've been two or three times in the last couple years. I do not find their burgers consistent, I must say. However, the last one we went to had artwork on the walls created by manipulating Rubik's Cubes and then combining them into a mosaic, which was really cool.

How 'bout the lobster quadrilles?

I think Obamacare really did a number on Chili's. There was one pretty near here where I went maybe once or twice a year. Then the ACA passed and chain restaurants had to start reporting calorie counts, and I never darkened their door again.

I don't think it's that bad, because ice cream and gelato are hardly the same thing.

Unlikely.

This incident aside, she's a drama queen who subsists on manufactured outrage. I rather like some of her songs,

I have the same immediate reaction, but then I realize that racist assholes don't need a reason to be racist assholes.

Yes.
