My dad worked in the advertising department in our city's big department store, and I remember my mom bringing me in to meet him in the store restaurant for lunch sometimes. It was a treat because they had a real soda fountain and we would get chocolate cokes.

Ehn. In colloquial usage in '92, I would expect to say "I'm going to the record store to get some CD's," but if a friend held up a CD of "Up" and said "Hey, I got the Right Said Fred record," I'd know what he meant.
