I get why dumb movies cross borders. What i don't understand is why foreign audiences seem so much more willing than even Americans are to patronize dumb movies, foreign or domestic, over their own well-made domestic product.

But they make good movies in China. So why do the Chinese prefer stupid American movies to thoughtful Chinese ones? Or even stupid Chinese ones?
