How do I get un-grayed?
It’s fantastic. I’ve done it once each with BMW and MB. Highly recommend it if you can find the time.
I disagree. I think the MB one looks simple and classic, while Lincoln took it and then tried too hard with extra bling around the buttons.
While unlikely in this case, It’s also possible there is a sound meter at his favorite track so he’s aiming the noise away from the direction the sound meter is. People do this at Laguna Seca due to noise restrictions.
I’m clearly missing a key part of this joke. Care to enlighten me?
This is completely correct. If I lived in the ‘burbs, I would have several cheaper cars instead. The E63 wagon is my compromise “one-size-fits-all” car since my wife insists on having an SUV for her car.
Not really. It’s actually the most rare MB imported to the US (even fewer per year than the SLS AMG). However, they do sell the E350 wagons pretty well in the northeast and E63 sedans, so crash testing and emissions is not as incrementally expensive. Plus, they get _significant_ press (just like this article) because…
Tank size does matter. Current (W212) model has a 21.5 gallon tank. Works fine for the real world mileage. E90 M3 had a 16 gallon tank and only got 12-18 mpg in mixed driving, which was _really_ annoying.
Congrats! You’ll love it. I also came from a Bimmer...
I don’t think that’s the case here. E63 Wagons simply don’t exist on dealer lots, and there’s no advertising. I understand most AMG buyers probably don’t know what they’re buying, but nobody looking for a “base” $50K station wagon says “let me just spend $110K” so I can show off. They know exactly what they’re buying.
