Brooker also said that it may be that those two characters appear in future episodes =)

That's all valid, of course. In the end, he probably seemed a bit too much of an "average idiot" as you say to actually be in on it, and Blue was definitely sort of a red herring and they couldn't have written her any more suspicious in the beginning.

I did get a traitor-y vibe from him throughout the whole episode. Like the unthreatening sidekick who turns out to be the mastermind, and his hashtag message at the end seemed to me like he knew Scholes and gave him a warning that the police was on his trail. And then he got what he deserved.

It was inspired by The Killing and Borgen, according to Charlie Brooker.

The final moments with Blue chasing the bad guy had a tiny bit of Waif-chasing-Arya vibe to it if you watched Game of Thrones. Although I certainly didn't recognize Faye Marsay until after the episode was already over.

I guess in the books it's more justified as the Lord of Light actually resurrects quite a fierce warrior who does a little more (we get to know about) than in the show under his "banner".

Ah, you're right, I misread. Thanks!

Maybe I'm missing something, but Box Office Mojo says the first X-Files movie made $30 million during its opening weekend alone, why does the author write about "$21 million domestically" in this article?

I couldn't quite put my finger on what that episode immensely felt like, but Murakami-esque is a perfect description, now that you said it!

Indeed it is! And I totally forgot about that.

Hasn't anybody mentioned the episode title yet? Ten Thirteen is the name of Chris Carter's production company, and the timestamp 10:13 (p.m. usually) often indicates that something (usually) bad will happen right now in "The X Files". Just thought I'd add that =)

Baby Jesus and the Anti-Christ? =) just my five cents~
