I tried to read that book three times and just couldn’t do it. It’s now taken up semi-permanent residence holding my window up. I purposely have the cover facing the outside so all my neighbors can see exactly how if feel about the book.

It’s okay. I’ve never actually gone through with recycling a bad book, it seems wrong somehow. But I’ve definitely considered it. Freedom came from the library, so I wasn’t able to entertain the fantasy.

I wonder though if most of the women polled were looking at it from the perspective of “this mostly hurts women through coercive practices and trafficking and therefore it’s really bad” rather than “those slutwhores”.
