Because it’s incredibly cheap to do so. And Soderbergh has always done these kind of gimmicky things like in Bubble when he didn’t use professional actors.

Yeah I think that worry was premature. I’m actually surprised they are selling so well because they couldn’t even sell out the 5,000 seat venue in my town a few years ago with Jimmy on drums. I guess its all marketing.
I actually like that album...or at least the first 7 songs. Then it goes downhill fast. Those opening drums on Doomsday Clock are killer. Wish they played that song more.
I’m really looking forward to hearing Jimmy Chamberlin on an SP album again. He was such a crucial part of the sound and even on a more current album like Zeitgeist he was incredible on songs like United States.
The intermission during The Hateful Eight was glorious. I wish more movies had that.
The first college football player bowl game roster sketch might be favorite. Also loved the competing hats sketch.
If you live in America you can just get a cheap (depending on how close you are to a broadcast tower) antenna and watch all broadcast channels that way. That’s how I watched the Oscars.
I actually thought this years show was less boring than previous years so it makes sense no one watched.
I haven’t watched the special yet but I saw him on tour last year and it seems like the material I saw is in the special. It was definitely funny but it was interesting when he started talking about cheating on his wife. You could tell the audience was suddenly “oh now I don’t know what to think of this guy.” Never…
Oh yeah definitely a major step down from that movie.
I’m not saying all the criticisms aren’t warranted, but I have yet to meet anyone in person who didn’t enjoy The Cloverfield Paradox. Would it have done well in theaters? Probably not. But as a free movie that suddenly showed up on Netflix it was a nice bonus for subscribers that is certainly worth watching.
The way I justified it in my head is that the Earth reached a point where the energy needs couldn’t support the population. Obviously we don’t need electricity / oil to survive as a species but to maintain 8 billion people we do. So regardless of how much renewable energy they had if we can’t keep up with demand…
As someone who lives in the area I can assure you no one cares about this. But everyone is excited to have an Alamo Drafthouse.
I look forward to watching this movie 8 months from now on HBO while laying on my couch hungover.
When I saw The Force Awakens opening night the picture was screwed up during the crawl. A couple people quickly ran out and they got it fixed in a minute so it wasn’t a big deal. I would definitely be pissed if I missed the first 20 minutes of dialogue though.
Listening to the new Death From Above 1979 album Outrage is Now. Came out a few months ago but didn’t realize that until recently. I never really cared for them but they really stepped up their game with this album. If you are looking for a bad ass rock album check it out.
I think the money and influence allows them to be the scumbags they always have been but have had to keep it in until they reached the level where being themselves wouldn’t affect their ability to make more money.
Wow guy who is a well known asshole also sexually harasses woman. Shocking news.
I love Super Punch Out. It was the first game I fired up after opening the console. I never owned Super Mario World so honestly I’d much rather play Donkey Kong Country. The graphics and music are much better.
I just assumed that after the huge success they had with Tina Fey playing Palin after she left SNL that they wanted a known celebrity to do the same for Trump. Definitely feel bad for Hammond though.
