Give up AWD and DCT for reliability? For luxury car buyers? Ehhhhhh
Give up AWD and DCT for reliability? For luxury car buyers? Ehhhhhh
With the Acura badge and their desire to compete with the big boys again, I expected AWD + DCT in this at least as an option to compete with the S3 and CLA35... and it certainly would have had my interest. With FWD + Manual only (for now), it isn’t even on the list of consideration.
Two obvious answers considering what it’s competing against in the “luxury” space: AWD and DCT (or some auto option that isn’t a CVT). If the price “starts with a 5", you’re in S3/240i territory.
This is the exact thing stopping me from getting a M3. It’s cooler looking and faster, but in every day driving it’s less comfortable and the extra speed doesn’t matter. So it’s a waste.
Not that I’m aware of. None of the reviews mentioned issues, and they’re usually quick to point out DCT issues in cars.
Oh yeah, if you’re track driving then the equation changes. But 95%+ of people buying these cars will never see a track in them, so like you said, Golf or Elantra makes more sense for every day driving.
Did you look at the pictures of the Civic interior? The rear seats look like they’re from a base model Nissan Versa. The Civic doesn’t exactly look “nice” on the inside.
Quality of life stuff - power and heated/cooled seats and I’m sure a whole bunch of other nice to haves.
I’d be surprised if there’s a lot of cross shopping between a Mustang and a hot hatch these days. Either you want a stupid “muscle car” and you’re that kind of guy, or you’re not.
While I agree, to be fair, none of those offer a manual anymore. If a manual is important to you, you’re shopping either in this category of cars or you have a ton more money and go for a M3 or Porsche Cayman/Boxster/911.
I imagine for the vast majority of people, the Civic Type R is not $11k better than the Elantra N, especially since the N has an optional DCT and comes with heated seats and I’m sure nicer rear seats while delivering 90%(ish) of the performance.
I’m sure it’s the former and not the latter - the minute Mario sets were revealed, it feels like a foregone conclusion that eventually Zelda sets will be on the way.
Golf Story is one of my favorite Switch games. Unless it’s definitely not your type of game style, you’ll love it. Good to play it now, because I imagine going from Sports Story to Golf Story would lead to disappointment in the original.
Have a Nice Death and Pepper Grinder look cool and all but all that matters is... SPORTS STORY IS FINALLY HERE.
lol that makes a significant difference. Glad the intended version is the correct one.
Musk has shown much restraint since taking over Twitter.
Yeah, the only reason I’m skeptical of this being the Supra is I doubt the current IS platform and this powertrain would fit in the low/small sportscar. It’d have to be a very different car than the current one.
Everything about this rumor screams “upmarket, costs more” which would make more sense for the next generation Supra than GR86. The whole ethos of the GR86 was small, light, and cheap, and these rumors would take it far from that. More expensive engine, plus expensive and heavy hybrid system built on a Lexus sports…
This car sits at an odd place. For very little more money (and no wait list shenanigans), you can get a Golf R with AWD, optional DCT, more comfort, nicer interior. For almost $10k less, you can get an Elantra N that fills the “FWD with lots of power and drives awesome with a decent interior” role pretty well, and…
They also brought up how cars from major automakers have backup physical keys in their fobs for when this stuff happens. It’s almost like they wanted to account for situations to avoid having customers get stuck.
