Yep, it drives me nuts. I really liked the retractable screen, especially with the all digital dash. My current favorite interior design is probably the modern Volvo with the screen + some physical controls.

See I was the opposite: I started out with S4 vs A5, because they were much closer in price after common dealer discounts but... the blue S5 on the showroom floor made it difficult to ignore. I also like that the S5 sits lower.

I’ve had a S5 Sportback for 22 months now, and my feedback on it:

I’d be a Lexus buyer if they would update their engines to class competitive and update the IS & RC. The IS is a nice car to drive, it just needs a new version to keep up with everything else out there from the Germans.

Now that’s a good story of what I assume is an amazing marriage.

It’s also literally their only data point as to whether the number is big or small, and they took that as “it’s small.”

Yeah that’s a HUGE number, much higher than I expected when they say “small number.” It’s the second largest purchase people make and if 15% of them are given as gifts that’s a very large number.

You could probably find a MK7 CPO in this price range, or even a current-gen GLI.

I always WANT to like Volvos, like the current S60 and S90 are damn pretty, and the “Polestar Engineered” and sportier version of the S60 are interesting, but I imagine if I drive it it’ll be disappointing all over again. Dammit.

Yes, this was nearly a decade ago when I drove it after reading so many people talk about how great it was online. Seriously the biggest gap between built up expectations and actual driving experience I’ve ever had.

Agreed! This is definitely the first time the list wasn’t full of bad suggestions.

Agreed. I fully expected a GTI or current GLI on the list.

I’ve driven the S60R before and... it feels like a goddamn Buick. I hated it so much.

I mean, they’re factory wheels and tires for an Audi S5 Sportback. But yeah, they’re pretty thin...

I have an inefficient car that takes premium gas, therefore I pay extra in taxes on that gas... which is supposed to go toward fixing the roads.

You use the sarcasm tag yet... they phoned in a lot of the next generation of Cadillac, the rest of the Chevy brand is filled with generic garbage, and Buick has... the Regal? It’s honestly a shame they can’t do better on the whole, especially with Ford getting out of cars.

The car reviews and “news” stuff is pointless. However their features (like the Lancia one for example) are usually very good, and obviously their adventures are great... unless they’re all in super expensive vehicles. Then they’re meh because it limits what they can do.

A mid-engine Corvette with 900 hp and AWD? 5 years ago people would have claimed blasphemy, but here we are with a GM product ready to punch up against cars costing nearly twice as much.

You lost me at “I think the Model 3 is one of the cutest designs on the road.”

Minus AWD, manual option, and probably anything mildly related to “comfort” for daily driving.
