TBH I think the new Toyota Tacoma is completely pointless. Not much seems all that new about it except the new V6 that doesn’t make good mileage anyways.

The low mpg will definitely have buyers looking elsewhere. It pretty much has the taco crossed off my list for potential next vehicles.

Yeah as long as they don’t have knees. That is like saying an RX-8 can seat 4 people..

I think I will wait to see what the new Nissan Frontier has to offer at these prices. Almost $32k seems like a LOT before 4x4.

I really, really, really want one of these because of my amazing history with Hyundai vehicles but without a crew cab option or better rear room I just could never consider it due to having an infant. Right now my 2010 Nissan Frontier works pretty good in this regard but it isn’t perfect and the carseat fits fairly

I’ve seen platinum trucks hauling all kinds of stuff here in Texas. Washer/Dryers/Fridges/Fiber Spools, etc. They get a lot of use around here actually.

I drove a manual (rwd of course) 1991 BMW 535i around Chicago for 4 years (2001-2005) without snow tires or issues. Chicago has a FANTASTIC public works department that clears the streets of snow. I think the most helpful thing, for me at least, was starting in 2nd gear when it was really slushy out.

Super easy:

Where I am any MKT under 60k miles is and newer than 2012 is still going to run mid 30s which is still expensive.

I see tons of them on autotrader for the new 2014 models for around that price.

You are actually way off. You can get a Silverado 1500 4WD Crew 2LT for mid $38k even with the LT plus packages and stuff.

Sure but then you compare it to the other midsize and the gulf widens there as well.

Man $36k is a LOT of money.

Right but the bigger trucks run some pretty deep incentives whereas these small trucks run nothing. Upselling to a Silverado is pretty easy actually.

wait, what?

I called about looking at a Colorado and the models they have were the top of the like $35k+. The salesman steered me towards a Silverado for maybe slightly less after rebates.

Wow, this car gets expensive fast.

A good diesel in the Frontier would probably be the only reason I would upgrade from my 2010 Frontier over a Colorado.

Partly it is because insurance will pay it and also because the larger shops have bigger overhead for store costs etc so they have to get paid a certain amount to still make money. This is also the reason a lot of the backyard/1 or 2 man shops eventually close. Plain and simple they don't charge enough because prices

Do you think that is due to all the skilled metalworkers going to the oil fields?
