I like to think i've already found two. 1985 crx 5 speed still owned by the original (female) owner and for sale currently ;) And a friend recently purchased a stock wheels, stock exhaust 1995 twin turbo 6 speed supra. That's rare.

Add this with the Opel GT, Delorean DMC and C1 Corvettes for the "cars that look fantastic and drive like crap" category.

Oh there certainly are many hardcore open topped cars, I was just speaking of the ones available in the GM lineup.

You can't hang your elbow out the window in any of these new cars. And that's a shame.

Because the corvette zo6 and zr1 are supposed to be more "focused" hardcore cars. That's why neither of them are available with flappy paddles. If you want open top, go for the grand sport with the targa.

yay more bringatrailer regurgitation

A Swift GTi is a lot of things but super cool is rarely one of them haha It's a car you have to not take seriously to enjoy

I actually just went through the process of switching to a more rational daily driver and I feel I've come out better for it. It's just as quick (sssslllllooooooowwww) as my old car but has a manual, gets unreal mileage and is much more simple to work on than my old 80's GM piece. I can't think of any other car that

Props. A third pedal can make even the mundane just that more interesting.

Holy crap thats a BIG impreza. Or at least it looks like that

A very well written piece on a car that rarely comes to light. get's my vote.

WOOT! Good to see some love for the little suzu. Engine is excellent, suspension is good but the weak link is the steering. It's very heave for a small car and somewhat vague.

Different worlds huh? Where I live (northern US) I'd say maybe 2-5% of girls know how to drive manual.

Yes.

Am I the only one that thinks it's drop dead sexy when a girl can drive a stick? I mean I know this girl from Europe and she drives my (manual) car and damn it's hot how she just shifts like it aint no thing. Maybe im just crazy...

Indeed that was quite the eulogy. My friends say (and they are right) that fast cars will always be around but the ones that are truly remembered and revered are the batshit cars. Think cobra, F40, Viper. These will be remembered long after the GTR's and AMGs.

That is just nuts!

[image.hotrod.com] Like this. The sleeper is exemplified by that shiny engine in a brown paper wrapper. I mean he even kept the bench seat and walmart leather steering wheel wrap. And it's kinda quick too...

Damn she had some legitimate speed built up. I mean that looked at least 20-30 mph

Yes. And a a license test ever 2-3 years for people over 65
